About this place
Along a quiet street in the Kinkaku-ji area, Ramen Kimura builds its menu around two distinct pillars: a clear chintan soup fragrant with seafood and a deeply simmered, rich paitan. The Fish Broth Soy Sauce Ramen pours a deep amber, delivering an initial burst of rich fish dashi and crisp soy sauce before finishing light and clean on the palate. By contrast, the Rich Chicken Ramen features a broth simmered to a velvety thickness, tailored for days when you crave something deeply savoury and substantial.
For a more indulgent bowl, diners often select the "Tokusei" (special) version, which adds a soft-boiled seasoned egg, 3 slices of chashu, and wontons packed with savoury filling. A shake of the tabletop kuro-shichimi midway through introduces the refreshing tingle of sansho pepper, sharpening the contour of the dashi. Ordering sides such as the Chicken Tempura (5 pcs) or the Chicken Tempura Rice Bowl with Soft-Boiled Egg adds freshly fried chicken for a generous meal.
Those who prefer brothless noodles can opt for the mazesoba, coated in a lightly sweet sauce; thoughtfully, it comes with a small portion of finishing rice (shime-meshi) to stir into the leftover sauce at the end. In the evening, the kitchen also introduces an exclusive Rich Tsukemen, with extra noodle ticket options available for large or extra-large servings.
Ordering is handled via a ticket vending machine inside on a cash-only basis, with seating arranged across counter stools that welcome solo diners and regular tables. Whether lingering over bottled beer and boiled dumplings or dropping by for a hearty bowl of noodles between strolls, guests can enjoy their meal at an unhurried pace.
